Fishing Report 9 July 2018

As mentioned last week we have some new products arriving and the first of them is here. The 160 ml River to Sea Fish Candy lure. This great looking product has 2 x7/0 single hooks, 4 great colours and strong sturdy construction allowing a diving depth of 2/3 metres. Mackerel, Tuna, GTs amongst others should all be attracted to this lure. Ask our friendly staff for more information when you call into Tackle World Weipa, were here to help!

Back to the fishing report, which to say the least has been ordinary due to high winds, rough seas and cold water. This time of the year we only seem to get small weather windows of little or no wind so this can restrict Bluewater activities but the many Rivers and Creeks in and around Weipa are still there to be enjoyed for your recreational pleasure. Plenty of good fishing still to be had, especially around Billys Lagoon and Stones Crossing.

Rui Kanamori (pictured) and his wife Tomi ventured out to Billys Lagoon on the Wenlock River resulting in Saratoga, Barra to 60 cm and of course the occasional annoying Catfish.

Tackle World staffer Scott Walker and some mates fished upstream from Stones Crossing, also on the Wenlock River with lots of small Barra, Sooties, Tarpon and some nice Saratoga being caught and released. The boys also got a nice feed a Cherabyn whilst out on the water.

Until next week, bent rods and tight lines.
